The Jaz Royale Long Nile river cruise is a truly luxurious way to take in the sights of Egypt, with spacious cabins and ample facilities to make you feel at home on your trip. The upper deck houses a large lounge and bar alongside a second panoramic lounge, while the sundeck is split over 2 levels.

Cabins :

The Jaz Royale features 48 Guest cabins of which 21 are on the Main Deck and 24 on the Upper deck.

In addition 3 Lower deck cabins are available with NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT.

All cabins (22 square metres) are air-conditioned and the Main and Upper Deck cabins have large panoramic sliding windows.

Satellite TV and in-house video channels (only whilst docking), mini bar, music system, safety box and private W/C with shower and hairdryer.

Restaurant/Bar :

The main restaurant accommodates all passengers in one sitting and offers a mix of local and international buffet style cuisine. Accommodation is on a full-board basis with daily tea time service including snacks and cakes.

On the Upper deck there is a large lounge and bar and at the front also a panoramic lounge.

General Facilities :

The Sun deck with sun loungers is split over 2 levels and has a small swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Drinks Package :

£30 per person per night when booked in advance.

Includes: locally produced mineral water, soft drinks, juices, tea and coffee*. Red and white wine, beer, and spirits. (*exc. machine coffees e.g. cappuccino, latte)

Drinks are served by the glass between the hours of 11am and 11pm

Please note sailing times and itineraries maybe subject to change, for operational reasons. The boats may not be suitable for the less mobile.

On each cruise English speaking local guides will join you for the visits to the historical sites but they may not travel on the cruise boat with you.


Itinerary :

  • Day 1 Aswan: Fly to Aswan via Cairo and transfer to the Jaz Royale Nile Cruise boat.
  • Day 2 Temple of Philae: Visit the high Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. In the afternoon, sail on a Felucca around Elephantine Island and the Botanical Gardens. Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.
  • Day 3 Kom Ombo: Morning at leisure or optional tour to Abu Simbel. Abu Simbel by coach (£85) or by flight (£255). In the afternoon, sail to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Kom-Ombo, dedicated to the Gods Sobek and Haroeris. Continue sailing to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board in Edfu.
  • Day 4 Edfu & Esna: Morning visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Afterwards sail to Luxor, passing through the Esna Lock. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
  • Day 5 West Bank: Visit the West bank of the Nile including the two Colossi of Memnon, The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahari and the Valley of the Kings. Afternoon at leisure in Luxor. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
  • Day 6 Temple of Karnak: Morning visit to the Temple of Karnak and Temple of Luxor. In the afternoon, sail north to Qena. Dinner and overnight on board in Qena.
  • Day 7 Denderah: Visit the Temple of Hathor at Denderah, which houses the chapel of the Goddess Nut. Afternoon at leisure while sailing to Naga Hamadi. Dinner and overnight on board in Naga Hamadi.
  • Day 8 Abydos: Sail to El Balyana and visit Abydos Temple. Afternoon at leisure while sailing to Sohag. Dinner and overnight on board in Sohag.
  • Day 9 Tel Amarna: Enjoy the day sailing to Tel Amarna via Assiut. Dinner and overnight on board in Tel Amarna.
  • Day 10 Tel El Amarna: Visit Tel El Amarna, the capital of the Sun-God. Visit the northern tombs including Tomb of Ahmose (EA3), Tomb of Meryre (EA4), Tomb of Pentu (EA5), Tomb of Panehesy (EA6), Royal Tomb of Akhenaten (EA26). The Great Palace of King Akhenaten, The Small and great temples of Aten. After lunch, cross to the West Bank of the Nile and visit Tuna El Gabal and Ashmunein, Hermopolis and the well preserved ancient water system. Continue sailing to Minya. Dinner and overnight on board in Minya.
  • Day 11 Beni Hassan Tombs: Visit tombs of Beni Hassan including the Tomb of Baqet III (BH15) Tomb of Khety (BH17), Tomb of Amenemhet (BH2), Tomb of Khnumhotep II (BH3) Afternoon sailing to Beni Suef. Dinner and overnight on board in Beni Suef.
  • Day 12 Cairo : Day at leisure while sailing north to Cairo. Dinner and overnight on board in Cairo.
  • Day 13 Pyramids & Sphinx: Visit the great Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx, and the step Pyramid of King Zoser at Sakkara. Dinner and overnight on board in Cairo.
  • Day 14 Egyptian Museum & Citadel: Visit the Egyptian Museum and Citadel. Afternoon at leisure or optional tour (approx. £43) of Old Cairo, known as Christian Coptic Cairo, also visit the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Barbara, the hanging church, and the old Jewish Ben Ezra Synagogue. Dinner and overnight on board in Cairo.
  • Day 15 Disembark : Disembarkation and transfer to Cairo airport or post-cruise hotel.
