Who Can Drive?

Is It Dangerous?
Cairo is one of the biggest, fastest, most terrifying cities in the world for unfamiliar drivers. Some of the main issues are a) the lack of road markings, b) the local faster-is-better attitude to driving, c) the incessant noise of car horns, and d) driving on the right side of the road. However, once outside the cities, roads are habitually quieter and the driving experience far more serene.
Safety
One of the things we’re serious about on Nile cruises is hydration. Egypt is HOT, making sensible hydration an unfamiliar must to the U.K traveller. NEVER rent a car and drive ANYWHERE without an adequate supply of water, a map and plans left with one of our holiday reps or a family member.

Egypt is a country that has long fascinated historians and holidaymakers alike. The nation, which is located on the northern coast of Africa and is bordered by countries including Libya and Sudan, is a highly desired destination among many people in the world.

The city of Cairo has earned the Arabic title of Al-Qahirah (The triumphant), with its rich history and many stories being told of ancient dynasties that was once governed by the Pharaohs.
Today however Cairo is a city that attracts tourists from all over the world, many of them will travel on the Nile river cruises stopping to go ashore to see the Pyramids of Gaza.
When walking round the city of Cairo you can not help but appreciate the time and effort the people of Egypt put into building their great monument, there was no modern technology or man made machines to help them out, no wonder it took 20 years before it was completely finished.
According to the information given out to tourists there are approximately 2 million limestone blocks that make up the largest pyramid, it makes you wonder how long it would take to count and verify that number.
