How to Plan your River Nile Cruise

Friday, April 30th, 2010

A River Nile cruise is the perfect way to see Egypt at its finest, with excursions to all the main sights as well as the option to stay in one of Egypt’s many resorts. Visiting Egypt is an exiting prospect but the inevitable planning can be a daunting task.

Enlisting the help of a professional, someone who knows Egypt and its traditions and customs will help you to make the most of your holiday whilst being aware of local customs and practices. For instance, in the month of Ramadan which is the holy month of fasting in September through to October, the locals refrain from eating, drinking or smoking during daylight hours. Visitors should also follow this practice out of respect for the Islamic tradition and not eat, drink or smoke in public. However, hotels do make provision for their guests during this time.

Here at One Small Step Travel we can advise you of the excursions that you will not want to miss as well as any local customs that should be observed. We can also assist in the organisation of travel extras such as airport parking, travel insurance or airport transfers. In fact, we are able to assist with almost all aspects of your holiday in order to ensure you have the best stay possible.

A River Nile cruise should be thoroughly planned before booking in order to ensure you experience all that Egypt has to offer. Your travel advisor will be willing to help you make travel arrangements and book the holiday that will prove to be the best you ever had.

Egypt is a fascinating country which holds archaeological delights for many, including the famous pyramids and the many temples. A holiday to Egypt will provide you with an opportunity to see for yourself all the wonderful sights that you have only ever seen in pictures, or on television. The only disadvantage to booking a holiday to Egypt is not knowing what to visit, the prices, and anything which should be avoided. Added to this is the planning of your journey as you travel around from place to place, staying in several hotels and travelling between destinations. By the time you have unpacked and packed your clothes and toiletries at several different hotels you will be exhausted.

River Nile cruises offer you the chance to visit all the places of interest in comfort, allowing you to decide what you would like to see. Once you are on board you can unpack your luggage knowing that you will be staying in one place whilst travelling to different areas of Egypt.

When Should you go on a River Nile Cruise?

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Egypt is a fascinating country with many areas of historical interest, a sightseer’s idea of paradise. One of the better ways to experience the wonders of Egypt is on a River Nile cruise. A River Nile cruise will enable you to travel around visiting different areas without having to travel from hotel to hotel, unpacking and packing clothes several times during your holiday. This is exhausting for many people and can ruin an otherwise marvellous holiday.

The dates that you visit Egypt for Egypt Nile cruises will depend upon certain factors, the main one being the climate. If you are a serious sun lover and thrive in the heat, the summer months of July and August are extremely hot and would be perfect for you. However, for anyone who doesn’t enjoy the heat it would be preferable to take your River Nile cruise in the spring time or very late summer when the weather is still pleasant, but a much more bearable temperature.

There are several public holidays during the year when many services will be closed. A reputable cruise company such as here at One Small Step Travel will be able to advise you when you book your holiday and recommend the most suitable dates for you to travel based on your requirements.

Of course certain dates will be of interest to many visitors such as Ramadan, a time when Muslims abstain from food or drink from sunrise till dusk which takes place throughout September and ends in October, with a festival to celebrate.
