Our opinion

The Ra 1 provides a traditional base from which to explore the historical sights along the River Nile. Although a 4 Star boat many of the modern 5* luxury boats being built today have copied many of the Ra 1's features such as the cabins have Juliette balconies with floor to ceiling windows that open inwards allowing you to take in all the wonderful scenery from your own cabin and a refreshing cool breeze combined with the fact that the Ra 1 has its own private mooring so you dont get obstructed views and noise from other boats when moored up. The food is excellent and the service is second to none so the Ra 1 really offers great value for money.

Rooms

The RA 1 Nile Cruise features 72 air-conditioned cabins, each with private facilities, TV, mini bar, hairdryer and balcony. All cabins have door length windows and this boat has its own private mooring. All cabins are on the main deck or above. *Single cabins do not offer a balcony.

Note: TV Viewing may only be possible when the boat is docked.

International buffet style meals are served in the spacious dining room. Afternoon tea is offered daily plus a lounge bar and patio lounge are also available.

The RA 1 Nile Cruise does not offer child prices.

Typical River Nile Cruise Excursions

Please note sailing times and itineraries maybe subject to change, for operational reasons. The Nile cruise boats are not suitable for the less mobile or for children under 12 years old. On Nile cruises English speaking local guides will join you for the visits to the historical sites but they may not travel on the cruise boat with you.

Tipping

Tipping is expected in Egypt. Expect to budget about £30 for tips. For your convenience this may be collected at the beginning of the cruise.
