Life on Board
The Alexander The Great has a stylish lounge bar in which you can relax and enjoy cocktails. The two upper decks provide a pool with a Jacuzzi and a large crescent shaped bar where you can enjoy a drink under the stars. The Alexander The Great also has a Spa offering massage treatments and a Turkish bath, Internet room fitness facilities and a gift shop.
During your stay on the Alexander The Great breakfast, lunch and dinner is included and all meals are taken in the ‘Red Fiesta’ restaurant which is situated on the third deck. The ‘Red Fiesta’ is an elegant restaurant and has large panoramic windows overlooking the Nile and offers a variety of international cuisine with buffet breakfasts and lunches and a la carte dinners. The Alexander The Great also has a barbeque on the pool deck and is a great place to enjoy traditional oriental food and music under the stars.
Comfort
All of the 30 air-conditioned cabins have Nile views and are individually designed to provide an attractive blend of colour, quality and ambiance. The spacious cabins measure 25 metres and all have en-suite bathroom with bath tub, bathrobes, hairdryer, vanity mirror and natural toiletries; there is also a mini-bar, satellite LCD TV and personal safe.

Itinerary 7 Nights Nile Cruise
Day 1 – Luxor: Depart from the UK, fly direct to Luxor, On arrival transfer to the 5 star Old Winter Palace in Luxor for a stay of 1 night.
Day 2 – Luxor Temples: Morning at leisure. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the Alexander The Great whereupon you will take your first excursion to visit the temples of Luxor and Karnak. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 3 – West Bank: An early morning visit to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s temple and the Colossi of Memnon. On arrival back at the boat, a buffet lunch will be served and the boat will set sail for Esna. Afternoon tea will be served on the Club sun deck. In the evening enjoy a welcome cocktail and presentation of the yacht’s crew in the lounge bar (smart dress). After an a la carte dinner in the restaurant, watch a Nubian dance show in the comfort of the lounge bar. At some stage during the evening the boat will pass through the lock at Esna then docks overnight.
Day 4 – Edfu: Early morning sail to Edfu. Wake up at leisure and after breakfast, visit the Temple of Edfu. Afterwards, the boat will sail to Kom Ombo while you enjoy lunch in the Red Fiesta restaurant. In the evening there will be an Egyptian BBQ dinner on the sun deck with the opportunity for guests to dress up in traditional Egyptian costumes. Overnight Kom Ombo.
Day 5 – Aswan: Early morning sail to Aswan, Morning tour by felucca (sail boat) around the islands, Lunch on board. In the afternoon, visit the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 6 – Abu Simbel: The day can be spent at leisure on board the boat or you may wish to take an optional excursion to Abu Simbel either by coach (approx £85) or by air (£195).
Day 7 – Kom Ombo: Today the boat will sail to Kom Ombo in the early morning. After breakfast the day will begin with a morning visit on foot to the Temple of Kom Ombo. Afterwards the boat sails to Esna while lunch is served on board. Afternoon tea is served on the The Club sun deck. Dinner, evening entertainment and overnight in Esna.
Day 8 – Nile River Luxor – Morning at leisure as the boat heads to Luxor. On arrival in Luxor, disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight or transfer to your next resort.
Itinerary 14 Nights Nile Cruise - Cairo to Aswan.
Day 1 – Cairo: Fly direct to Cairo. You will be met on arrival and taken to your Nile Cruise boat the Alexander The Great. Dinner and overnight on board
Day 2 – Memphis, Sakkara and the Great Pyramids: Tour to visit Memphis, Sakkara and Pyramids, Sphinx area, overnight in Cairo
Day 3 – Cairo City Tour: Visit the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Mohammed Ali Mosque and Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Sail to Beni Mazar
Day 4 – Full Day Cruising: All day sailing, Overnight Beni Mazar
Day 5 – Beni Hassan: Sail to Beni Hassan for local visit. Sail to Tel Ek Amarna. Overnight in Sohag
Day 6 – Tel El Amarna: Visit tel El Amarna. Sail to Assiut. Overnight in Assiut
Day 7 – Sohag: Breakfast. Pass the lock of Assiut and sail to Sohag. Overnight in Sohag
Day 8 - Abydos: Early morning sail to El Balyana. Visit Abydos Temple. Sail to Abu Homar Bridge and continue to Naga Hamadi. Overnight in Naga Hamadi
Day 9 - Qena: Passage to the Naga Hamadi Railway Bridge and sail to Qena. Overnight in Qena
Day 10 – Denderah: Visit to Denderah Temple. Sail to Luxor and visit the Luxor Temple. Overnight in Luxor
Day 11 – Luxor: Visit the West bank – Valley of the Kings, Harshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, visit the Karnak Temple. Evening sailing to Edfu
Day 12 – Kom Ombo: Morning visit to Horus Temple. Sail to Kom Ombo for late afternoon visit to Sobek Temple. Sail to Aswan for overnight.
Day 13 – Abu Simbel: The day can be spent at leisure on board the boat or you may with to take an optional excursion to Abu Simbel either by coach (approx £85) or by air (approx £195). Overnight in Aswan.
Day 14 – Aswan: Morning visits to High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple. Afternoon sailing direct to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 15 – Fly to the UK: The morning can be spent at leisure or take an optional Hot Air Balloon flight. In the afternoon, disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight or continue to your next resort.
Reverse Itinerary: This itinerary operates in reverse departing from Luxor and ending in Cairo on certain dates. Please check with us at time of booking.
